So, as happy as I am with the new YouTube app for the Vita, I'm happy that I have an alternative, because I find it irritating that I have to buffer the videos every single time. I have crappy internet, so it bugs me.
PS Vita YouTube Downloader!
What I can do is download the videos to my memory card from YouTube in the web browser. This method is not mine, but I would like to share it with you guys because it helped a lot of people. This method was also featured in IGN and a bunch of videos. I'll try to make it simple.
Type this url into your web browser:
http://oretube.blog99.fc2.com/blog-entry-75.html
tap and hold PS Vita Tube Downloader, and wait for... nothing.
Nothing will seem to happen, but bookmark the page. The URL will say javascript something something something. Go ahead and change the Name to YouTube downloader or whatever you want, but leave the address alone.
Now go to YT. Choose a video you want to download it. It will still say that you do not have an html5 browser and it isn't supported, but just open the bookmark that you created a while ago. One or two small links will appear directly above the video, saying 480 or 720. Click on these and the download will start onto your memory card. Enjoy :)
Note: Some videos don't have HD so a 720 pixels option may not be available.

So who of you are looking forward to PlayStation's upcoming game, PlayStation All-Stars? I definitely am. I know it sounds dumb, but it looks wonderfully cheesy and seems like it'll be a blast when it comes out. I need a game that looks fun, engaging, but totally un-serious. Then again, I'd probably buy NFS: Most Wanted or Assassins Creed III: Liberation first. Or Black Ops, but that sounds seriously overrated.
Gravity Rush
I'm sure many of you have heard of Gravity Rush, if you own a Vita and you haven't heard of Gravity Rush, you either have no life, no internet, or a little bit of both. Now, whether you like it or not is entirely up to you. But I will say that if you do have it, you probably will like it.
Gravity Rush is the best Vita title to date. It has a fun and engaging storyline if you have time to sit down and play for a while, and it also has plenty of minigames to keep you occupied if you are rushed for time. The graphics are incredible, the world is huge, and there's plenty of things to do. It's what the Vita is about: a console experience in your hand, on the go.
Only one thing in my mind holds it back, and it is the reason I don't play it anymore: when you're finished, you're finished. There's nothing else left to do. Sure it's amusing to toss people off the edge into oblivion, but you can only do that so much before it gets boring. I have platinum for the main game already, so really there's not much else to do besides competing in leaderboards for minigames or beating your own previous high scores. That's also the limit of multiplayer in the game.
Thumbs up to any coming DLC. Unfortunately, I don't have a credit card, so I can't buy any DLC until I get a PSN gift card, and none are available near me right now. T_T
Oh and a thought struck me the other day... All of the haters of the PS Vita (and of all Sony consoles for that matter) don't own one. And everyone that does own one is either neutral or is a fanboy. Even people who own both an Xbox and a PS3 tend to lean toward the PS3, although I do not approve of such rich people wasting their money. Go buy food for the homeless, not buy a useless second console to do exactly the same things as the first. (Sell your Xbox. Heh.)

I downloaded MotorStorm: RC for free on PSN. I was happy someone decided to be nice and release a full game entirely for free. I read up about it first, and I found it was well-received by critics and was given a reasonable rating by lots of people.
When I played it, I thought: why on earth would they charge money for this?? Maybe I'm being judgmental. But the first hint to my skepticism is immediately obvious: the graphics. They look un-detailed, small, and not visually appealing. Maybe die-hard remote-controlled race car racers may enjoy it profusely, but it failed to make me remember of the time when even I had my own remote controlled race car. The game was fun once in a while, but even just glancing your car off one side of the track could mean you just lost the race. The silly physics engine also made it possible for my car to do backward somersaults for almost no apparent reason! Quite irritating.
All in all, though, the devs put some work on it, and it's worth the trouble to go ahead and downloaded it now. Why? Because it's free, of course. Hurry and get it, and pretend you paid for it. (while it's still hosted for free.)

Many people complain about the Vita's terrible web browser. Admittedly... it is terrible. Slow, clunky, and aesthetically bad. But one of the biggest complaints is the inability to watch YouTube videos on your Vita. Yeah, that is pretty terrible. But I'm happy because the YouTube app has been released today. Thank goodness.

So I am sure that many of you have probably heard of Resistance: Burning Skies. There was a remarkable amount of hype generated when it came out. Indeed, it was the first FPS available for the new console. It was one of the first games I bought for my Vita, because I was itching to get my hands on an FPS.
How did it measure up?
It was a fun game. While it lasted. While many would think that a Resistance title would provide a long time of entertainment, Burning Skies' singleplayer was quite short. There was no replay value other than going in to find intel scattered throughout the level, or Grey Tech upgrades (but you finished the game already, so why do you need those?). Still, the developers put some effort into graphical detail. It was, by no means, comparable at all to Uncharted: Golden Abyss, but it set a reasonable standard. Shadows in particular were a bit dodgy. Plus, there were no ragdoll effects. Seriously? Plus, the trophies were so easy to earn, it's possible to earn all the trophies and get Platinum by playing through the campaign once and playing one round of multiplayer. No motivation there.
However, multiplayer was fun and engaging, as the trailer promises. I was addicted to multiplayer, and I found myself constantly drawn to it. Very little lag (unless your internet sucks) and it's fun to kill n00bs with knives and shotguns, although it's a little unfair to them. But who cares? Tension keeps you on your feet in case the guy suddenly becomes good and destroys you. Unfortunately, even multiplayer had its limits. Once you reach the maximum level cap (40), leveling up no longer means anything to you, and does not drive you anymore. However, you can still earn XP to upgrade your weapons with Grey Tech upgrades, but it would have been nice if your time doing singleplayer influenced multiplayer SOMEHOW. Unfortunately not. And once you have purchased all of the upgrades possible? There's nothing else to do. Unless you have lots of friends that own Vitas also, then you can compare scores and compete to have the highest score.
In all, not bad. Not too great either. I'm done with the game, at least for now. Thumbs up for more First Person Shooters to come in the future, because they definitely belong on the Vita. Dibs on Black Ops: Declassified.

A new day, new beginning!
I just started my blog, so I should tell you a bit about me: I bought my PS Vita about two months ago. I had a PSP before that, and I enjoyed it immensely. I liked it to the extent that I promised to buy a Vita as soon as it came out, because I thought, hey, it's just a big PSP, right? So when it came out, I sold my PSP to get my Vita.
As it turned out, it was much more, and much much better.
So far, I have purchased 5 games for my Vita:
-Resistance: Burning Skies
-WipEout 2048
-Gravity Rush
-Mortal Kombat
-MotorStorm RC
I am enjoying these games very much. I plan to rant on these games for a while, expressing my thoughts and opinions about these games. I would like to hear what you think about these games and my opinion, too.
I plan on buying good games when they come out, so tell me which one to buy, and I'll rant about it when I get it.
